Please excuse me

I just wanted to let you all know why I haven't posted and may not post in the next couple of days.  I had a heart attack early Friday morning and just got home.  I am only 38 and this was not supposed to happen!  The doctor told me that I probably would not be here if my son hadn't woken me up with a toothache.  Very scary.  I do have my giveaway going and I thank you all for participating in it.

If it's a paperback, I read the back cover.  If it's hardcover, I read the inside panels.  On both, I read the copyright page, the dedications, and the acknowledgments.   I have no idea why, I'm just nosy like that. lol

Sunday's Rest

And now is the day for rest.  My daughter just woke up throwing up so I'll be up for a while.  I'm sure I won't be in the mood for much later.  I hope you have the greatest day ever!

The Witches Daughter?

I just saw this book that someone won in an email.  Has anyone read it?  I am so into witches.  My library stinks and I'm about to see how much it is on the websites.  The best witch book I think I've read is The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe.

Netgalley?

Okay, I just signed up for Netgalley and have no idea what to do.  It looks like they don't send books out to bloggers that are small like me.  I'm contemplating requesting books, but at the same time I have all these books here that should be read and reviewed.  I have over 400 books on my Kindle Fire and a whole bookcase full of books that I've been given or won.    Any advice or a smack in the head for wanting more books? lol

Weekend Plans

Anything exciting going on this weekend?  I have nothing planned, and I like it that way.  Every weekend has been something and I just want a weekend to stay home and veg.  I'm disabled so I can't even say I'd be doing laundry or cleaning the house.  My husband does that.  After a 40 hour week, he cooks every night and cleans on the weekend.  Could I ask for a better man?

So, anything happening?  Can I live through you for the weekend? lol

If you could read one book again for the first time, 
which one would you pick and why?

I think I would go back and read Story of Beautiful Girl by Rachel Simon.  This book brought me right into the story and I felt every emotion the characters had.  I was scared, happy, sad.  I even cried a few times. lol  I would love to see this made into a movie.

My answer:
Hmm, I think I would have to go with love triangles.  This is strictly for books though, not in real life.  You just have to love a good triangle.  The jealousy, the choices, it all builds my anticipation.  Insta-love is hard in books because, if they fell in love instantly, there wouldn't be much of a book, would there?

Once Upon a Time

Do any of you watch this?  Every Sunday night, it is mine and my daughter's date night.  Thursday night is date night with my son to watch Vampire Diaries.    But let's get back to Once Upon a Time. lol  Did you watch the finale last night?  Oh my gosh, it was amazing and we can't wait for next season.  My daughter is only 10 and didn't understand that it will come back in the fall.  She thought that was the end of the show.  I don't want to give anything away, I just want to know what you thought.

My Answer:

I chose Fly Away Home by Jennifer Weiner.  

These women are devastated by the husband and father's extramarital affair and come together to try and heal.  I thought it was a fantastic story.

What book would you give a guy to study up on?

This is an easy answer.  I would and have given my guy the Black Dagger Brotherhood series.  The way they treat their mates and the sex descriptions is unbelievable!  The brothers women always come before themselves and that includes what goes on in the bedroom.

Wow, what a ride! Almost literally! Even though this is only 20 pages, there was almost a whole book crammed in there.   I have to applaud Lucy on her descriptions. I'm not sure how many authors can sink you into the story
and know exactly how the characters are feeling at that moment. There obviously wasn't a lot of talking going on here. The whole book was 
about descriptions. 
This was written in the first person. I had no idea what the name of that first person was until almost halfway into the book. But that 
didn't matter. What would you do if you suddenly came face to face with "the one that got away"? I would probably do exactly what happened
in this book. Hey, you only live once, right? The ending was too short for me though. Unless, there is a sequel in the works? I really enjoyed 
these characters and would love to see where it goes with them.

I filled the kettle and threw two tea bags into my mother's chipped blue teapot.  Later, I would drink my mother's special tea, a combination of the fennel, nettles and borage I grew in the back garden.

Rafflecopter?

Is anyone else having issues with Rafflecopter?  I think I did something.  After I finished hopping at a blog hop last night, I did a clean up on my computer.  Now, this morning, I have to sign in each and every time I want to enter something on Rafflecopter.  I can't sign in at all with facebook and it doesn't save my information.  I'm trying to figure out how to get my cookies back.  Do you think if I did a restore to my computer that I would get the cookies back?  I'm so upset about this.

BEA?

Anyone planning on attending BEA?    I live on Long Island in NY and I'm only about an hour's train ride away.  My problems are that it is during the week, everyone has school or work, and I'm disabled and can't go alone.  I will probably wind up sitting this one out and live through everyone that does go.

Cinco de Mayo?

Anyone have any special plans for Cinco de Mayo?  Every year I figure on celebrating but never get around to doing it.  I don't know if I've even had a margarita. lol  Am I missing out?

I don't think I'm doing a darn thing besides baking a crap load of cookies for the last day of my daughter's art club.  Oh, that plus the usual.  Laundry, reading journals, getting the kids to clean their rooms, etc.

I hardly ever use a purse but, when I do, I have my medical papers, my wallet, xanax, my daughter's inhaler, mints or gum, hair clip, pens and pencils, and hand cream.  That's all I saw in there, but I normally add my kindle or book I'm reading too.

There are a couple of books coming out next week that I would like to read.

This book seems to be all the rage in the blog world lately.  I haven't read it yet but, just looking at the hottie on the cover, I need to get it.

I have to admit, I haven't read up on this book at all.  I know, shame on me.  But I love this cover!  I love the colors and the swirlies and the dress!

So there are just 2 of the books I'm looking forward to.  There are a few more like Fallen by Lauren Kate and Pretty Amy by Lisa Burstein.

I was given a Kindle Keyboard last April and I don't think I've read a print book yet.  In February my husband bought me a Kindle Fire.  Again, haven't read a print book.  But let me tell you, I am DYING to read a print book.  I just have to get my hands on one and flip the pages.  I always have to watch the battery on the kindle, sometimes it's too bright for me(even though I can chance the brightness), and something even funnier, I can't wait to use a bookmark!  Does that sound silly?
