REVIEW: The One I Left Behind

The One I Left Behind: A Novel
Author:  Jennifer McMahon
Published by:  William Morrow paperbacks
Publishing date:  January 2, 2013
Source:  ecopy given by Edelweiss for honest opinion

Wow, what can I say about this book? I've been dying to read it and have been watching for Jennifer's new book to come out. I wish she could write faster. This is the 4th book I've read by Jennifer.

Regina, or Reggie, grew up with an eccentric mom. Always out with men, drinking at the bars. Until the day Reggie's mom, Vera, is kidnapped by a serial killer, who has already kidnapped and killed 3 other women in their small town. This book is about growing up, coming of age with an odd family life and trying to break out of it.

I really don't want to get too into detail because I'm always afraid I'll ruin it the way some Goodreads reader ruined it for me. I still totally enjoyed it and am looking forward to Jennifer's next one. I'll just end this by saying you won't be disappointed.

Other books by Jennifer McMahon:
Promise Not to Tell
Don't Breathe A Word
Island of Lost Girls
Dismantled
My Tiki Girl
Girl in the Woods

Welcome Cooler Weather!

Wow, I can't tell you how happy I am to see the cooler weather that has come, especially at night.  I love to leave my window open and burrow under the blankets.  The kids put sweaters on to go to school and I sit here with a blanket. lol   What do you do when the weather starts getting cooler?

I am so very sorry for being MIA so long.  I've been in and out of the hospital since May.  2 heart attacks, 1 almost(thank God they caught it in time), chest pain, kidney full of stones, 2 visits because of passing out from the pain.  I was just discharged on Tuesday again.  It's been really tough because I'm only 38 and have 4 kids to take care of.  After my kidney surgery, I'll hopefully be on the mend.
